Start of studies for all on-campus programmes
Applications for our programmes must be submitted digitally via either optagelse.dk or nemstudie.dk. We do not accept applications by post or email.
If you are applying for an Academy Profession (AP) degree programme or a Professional Bachelor’s degree programme with a summer start, you must apply via optagelse.dk.
If you are applying for a 1½-year top-up degree programme or for a programme with a winter start, you must apply via nemStudie.
During application periods, you will find an “Apply Now” button under each programme on our website, which will direct you to the relevant application portal.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all relevant documentation is attached in a legible and verified format. You may submit or upload additional documentation until 5 July for the summer intake and 15 December for the winter intake (however, no later than 1 April for applicants with an international qualifying examination applying for the summer intake).
nemStudie is a national admissions portal.
Once you have applied for one of our programmes via optagelse.dk, you can follow the processing of your application on nemStudie.
You will receive important information regarding your application through nemStudie. It is therefore important that you monitor the portal throughout the entire application period. Here, you will receive the decision on your application and confirm whether you wish to accept the offered study place.
As an applicant, you communicate with our admissions team about your application through nemStudie.
Danish citizens must log in to nemStudie using MitID, while international applicants and applicants without MitID can log in using their email address.
For the summer intake, you will receive a response to your application on 28 July after midnight, and for the winter intake, no later than 23 December. You will receive only one response, regardless of how many programmes or institutions you have applied to.
You will either be offered a study place or a standby place for one of the programmes you applied for, or you will receive a rejection.
If you are offered a study place or a standby place at SEA -Business Academy, you will receive an email notification, and your admission letter will be available on nemStudie. You must then confirm in nemStudie as soon as possible that you wish to accept the study place. If you do not confirm, you will lose the offer. The confirmation procedure will be explained in your admission letter.
If you are not admitted to a programme at SEA-Business Academy or to any other programme you have applied for, you will receive a rejection letter from The Coordinated Enrolment (KOT).
If you wish to cancel your application after 5 July, or after you have applied for an available study place, you must contact us at optag@s-e-a.dk and provide your full name and the programme you have applied for.
Practical information
SEA – Business Academy cannot help you with housing unless you’re an Erasmus+ student/exchange student. Therefore, we have made a list of links to help you. The Academy cannot be held responsible for the content of these sites. Contracts are between you and the landlord.
As a new international student in Denmark, there are three important things you need to arrange after your arrival: your residence permit, CPR number, and MitID.
1. Residence Permit
If you are a non-EU/EEA student, you must have a valid visa or residence permit before starting your studies in Denmark. Always make sure your permit is approved and valid for the entire study period. If you need to extend it, apply well in advance.
EU/EEA students must register for an EU residence document after arrival.
2. CPR Number (Danish Personal ID Number)
The CPR number is your Danish personal identification number. You need it to:
- Open a Danish bank account
- Receive your salary (if you work part-time)
- Access healthcare (doctor, hospital)
- Use many public services in Denmark
To receive a CPR number, you must register your address at the local Citizen Service (Borgerservice). After registration, you will receive your CPR number and your yellow health insurance card by post.
3. MitID
MitID is Denmark’s digital login system. You need MitID to:
- Access online banking
- Log in to public websites
- Communicate with authorities
- Access Digital Post
Danish citizens use MitID automatically. International students can apply for MitID after receiving their CPR number. You can set it up at Borgerservice or through your bank.
Important:
Please make sure you complete these steps as soon as possible after arrival in Denmark. Without CPR and MitID, many practical matters (bank, salary, healthcare, housing, etc.) will be difficult.
SU (State education grant) for foreign citizens (students)
If you are a foreign citizen, you must fulfil specific conditions in order to be granted equal status with Danish citizens and receive the state educational grant (SU).
You can read more about it at SU.dk
Apply
You must apply for SU directly on the website www.su.dk.
If you need guidance in connection with your SU, you can contact our SU tutors by mail.
